Question for Buford Pusser in the Commercial Appeal, Memphis – July 1972
The archived post preserved a reader question asking how the people in McNairy County treated Buford Pusser after he became famous.
In the restored article, Buford’s answer explains that close friends treated him the same, many people in McNairy County were proud of him, and a smaller group still disliked him because of his campaign against corruption. He closed by noting that no matter what a person does, it is impossible to make friends with everybody.
